Reading to children at schools

This project involves employees from several commercial companies on the island volunteering to read aloud to children at schools. Before performing this task, they attend reading workshops in which they learn reading techniques.

In addition to impressing upon the children the pleasures of reading, they also help them with difficult words and expressions. Thus the main objectives of this project are to stimulate more adults to read to / with children, to expand children’s imagination and vocabulary and to introduce them to new books and genres. The last one helps them with their book orientation so they may ultimately determine their preference in literature, which is also important.
